Exercise Program: Day 18 – Light Strength Training

January 27th, 2010

I was feeling sore these past two days from running, so I decided to go light on my strength training. Light Workouts consist of high reps with low weights pretty much, so they’re a nice break from heavy lifting. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 18 – Light Strength Training

Exercise Program: Day 17 – Strength Training Benefits for Runners

January 26th, 2010

As you know, today was a cardio day for me and my goal was to run for 30 minutes straight. I’m getting back into running, so my focus right now is to increase my endurance.

Today, I was doing some research on strength training and how runners  benefit from adapting this kind of workout to their exercise program. The findings, scientifically have been quite interesting, so I chose this to be my topic for today. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 17 – Strength Training Benefits for Runners

Exercise Program: Day 16 – Strength Training

January 26th, 2010

Today was my strength training day. Nothing too fancy from what I’ve done in the past. I was running a bit late, so I rushed through exercises, and skipped some, so I could shower and get ready for a meeting I had. I didn’t have time to workout this morning, so I was lifting weights at around 7pm. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 16 – Strength Training

Exercise Program: Day 15 – Just Another Day

January 22nd, 2010

*Note: I thought I posted this on Friday, but I guess I didn’t. This workout was on Friday, 1/22/2010*

Nothing new today. I don’t have any special topics I’d like to go over with you all, but I plan to come up with a good line up for next week. I can’t believe we’ve already finished three weeks together. It’s kind of nice to see progress too, not just in weeks, but in compliments. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 15 – Just Another Day

Exercise Program: Day 13 – Joint Alignment

January 21st, 2010

Monday’s workout was pretty intense and I still felt a little sore yesterday, so I decided to take it easy buy doing some stretching today. I wanted to originally do yoga, but I couldn’t find the dvd, so stretching was the next best thing.

What was special about this stretching was how I’m working towards aligning my joints. Let me explain a bit more. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 13 – Joint Alignment

Exercise Program: Day 12 – iPod Death

January 19th, 2010

I was so frustrated today because midrun, my iPod died. I had only run for about seven minutes and then boom, everything went silent.

I’m one of those people that can’t really run without listening to music, unless I’m really stressed and have a lot on my mind. Today wasn’t extraordinarily bad because it just so happened I had a lot on my mind, so I could entertain myself. » Read more: Exercise Program: Day 12 – iPod Death
